Can I just say I so love my little space on this blog and am happy to be spending a bit more time on here lately.
A few months ago, I bought several netted packages of glass baubles. I try to limit purchasing mass-produced items, but after searching the thrift stores and coming up empty-handed, I put down a few bucks at the dollar store and brought some home. This idea came from a wonderful group called: Play At Home Mom, and we have been making them when the artistic mood strikes. Today, we made two more with frames I bought for $0.59/ea at the thrift store. These are the ones we made today:
You can't see the frames very well in the picture, but one is a beautiful walnut frame, unpainted, and the other is an antiqued looking cerulean painted wooden frame.
Nate does, like 90% of the art. I simply pour the glue on the glass and lay out the baubles. He swirls the glue, places the baubles on the glue, moves them around, and makes them just so. Each one is perfectly him.
I'll have to take and post some pictures of how they look in our living room later. I think they make beautiful little gifts and look forward to possibly making these with my mom and sisters when we visit Portland next month.
It is raining gently outside and boy do we need the rain. I am perfectly happy with it being overcast and drizzly.
